Labor Information Newsletter | New increase in Minimum Monthly Income starting in August

As of August 1, the minimum income was raised from $380,000 to $400,000; This is in accordance with Law No. 21,456 published on May 26, 2022 in the Official Gazette.

Below are the most relevant aspects to take into consideration:

1. New monthly income increase: For workers over 18 years of age and under 65 years of age it will be $400,000; For workers under 18 years of age and over 65 years of age, the minimum income will be $298,391.

2.  Amount of temporary subsidy to micro, small and medium-sized businesses: The subsidy per worker will be $26,000.

3.  They will be entitled to the subsidy: A temporary, monthly tax subsidy will be granted that will be paid to natural and legal persons (including cooperatives) that have reported the start of activities in the first category before the SII,  that have annual income from sales and services. of spin greater than 0.01 UF and equal to or less than 100,000 UF.

4.  Subsidy application: It must be requested by the beneficiary, through an electronic platform provided by the SII.

5.   Subsidy payment period: The first payment will be made within 15 calendar days from the date on which the SII communicates the origin of the subsidy to the beneficiary and the following payments will be made on the last business day of the respective month, in In no case may more than 30 days elapse between the application and the first payment of the subsidy.


* In the event that the subsidy request is rejected or granted for a lower amount, the beneficiary may make a justified claim before the SII, who will resolve in accordance with the provisions of article 125 bis of the Tax Code.
