Law of 40 working hours
On April 11, 2023, the Law was approved that reduces the working day to 40 hours per week, which will be applied gradually. Below, we will share with you the most relevant aspects of this new Law.
One of the characteristics of this Law on the reduction of working hours is its gradual application, so its application can be carried out progressively over a period of 5 years. Once published in the official gazette, the Law will be implemented and come into force according to the following schedule:
One year after the entry into force of the Law: the working day will be reduced from 45 to 44 hours per week.
Three years after the entry into force of the Law: the working day will be reduced to 42 hours per week.
5 years after the entry into force of the Law: the working day will be reduced to 40 hours per week.
