Law 21,565: Creates new labor jurisdiction, within the framework of a comprehensive protection and reparation regime in favor of victims of femicide and femicidal suicide and their families

On May 9, 2023, Law No. 21,565 was published, which establishes a comprehensive protection and reparation regime in favor of victims of femicide and femicide suicide and their families.

The objective of the Law is the creation and strengthening of effective and necessary actions by the State for the comprehensive care and reparation of victims of femicide and femicidal suicide.

Who will be considered victims:

For the purposes of this law, the following will be considered a victim (art. 2 of the Law):

To the person offended by the crime
To the daughters and sons of the person offended by the crime
To other people under the care of the person offended by the crime
To the mother or father of the daughters or sons of the person offended by the crime, to those who have personal care for them, and to the current partner of the offended party who has a romantic relationship without cohabitation.
To anyone considered a victim under article 108 of the Criminal Procedure Code
The regulations that regulate this pension must be developed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, its deadline expires on November 9, 2023.
