On October 31, Law No. 21,628 was published in the Official Gazette, which makes modifications to the Unemployment Insurance Law. Below, we share with you the most relevant aspects to take into account:

1. Reduces requirements for access to Unemployment Insurance benefits.
2. Increase amounts and benefits.
3. Unemployment Insurance Coverage in the event of a catastrophe due to a public calamity, an area affected by a catastrophe or a health alert that implies a stoppage of activities.
4. Modification to the Labor Code and new obligation to inform the Employer.
5. Validity: The new law, and therefore the employer's new obligation to report, comes into force on December 1, 2023.
