BDO Chile signs academic collaboration agreement with Diego Portales University

At a ceremony held on Thursday, September 4, at its headquarters, BDO Chile, an international network of accounting, tax, consulting, and business advisory firms, signed a collaboration agreement with Diego Portales University.

This alliance aims to promote academic outreach initiatives that enable the dissemination of knowledge and awareness of topics related to accounting, auditing, and taxation. The agreement also provides for lectures, seminars, and other educational activities.

“This agreement is essential because it bridges the gap between practical experience and academia. In addition, we will open our doors to students who join the firm so that they can develop their skills. There are also multiple international agreements in place that will allow them to pursue their careers. We believe that this combination represents progress,” said Marcelo Donatucci, Managing Partner at BDO Chile.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Danae de los Ríos, welcomed this agreement and said it represents an excellent opportunity to expand the university's links and reflect on the challenges facing the sector. "We know that today, with Artificial Intelligence, there are a lot of challenges and we want to address them properly. There are ethical dilemmas that all organizations face, and professional training has a role to play here: to accompany, enlighten, and be receptive to the concerns of professionals."

This agreement, managed through the UDP School of Business and Administration, also seeks to promote mechanisms that, through internships and work experience, enrich the students' education.

Along these lines, Pedro Maldonado, director of the School of Administration and Business, said that this partnership seeks to be long-term. “The expectation is precisely to deepen the academic ties we have, so that they also participate academically, contributing professors to our School, and we can develop other academic projects that may be diploma or master's programs.”
